Tesma International consists of two auto-part manufacturing plants along with a head office building on a 40-acre campus complete with open fields and natural urban forestry. The challenge was to maintain the natural beauty and tranquility of the wooded areas throughout the property yet provide functionality for the heavy traffic expected in an industrial site.
Several flowerbeds were installed around the buildings and in the courtyards. Small pockets of natural forestry were left virtually untouched with only gentle walkways constructed through their centres and around their edges. Several open fields were highlighted with evergreens and colourful flowerbeds. The blending of natural forestry with man- made landscapes makes this industrial complex feel more like a university campus.
